The Writing Practice was formed in 1997 by Marcus D. Niski BA and specializes in journalism, writing and editing for a wide range of audiences, applications and genres including Feature Writing, Reviews, Interviews and Profiles produced for leading International publications.

A highly accomplished and widely published author, Marcus’ eclectic professional writing and editing credits include publications across a number of disciplines including – literary writing, historical writing, medical and legal writing, ghostwriting and specialized corporate writing projects.

Marcus has taught in a diverse range of Professional Writing Programs both in Australia and Internationally including – Creative Writing, Writing for Publication, Freelance Journalism, Creative Non Fiction, Writing for Mass Media – as well as having developed a number of highly successful short courses for writers in the techniques of Freelance Journalism, Interviewing for Writers, Creative Writing, and Keeping a Writer’s Notebook.

Elected an Honorary Life Member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers Vic Inc. in August 2005, Marcus also served as a Board Member of the Committee of Management of The Melbourne Athenaeum (2006-2010) one of Victoria’s oldest cultural institutions.
